Day by day description

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Gateway to the Wild

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by your expert safari guide from Sandhill Adventures. A comfortable transfer brings you to your lodge in Arusha, where you can unwind after your journey.

Spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool or exploring the town’s vibrant charm. Your guide deeply knowledgeable about Tanzania’s wildlife, cultures, and parks will brief you on the adventure ahead. Enjoy dinner and overnight at Ahadi Lodge, nestled amidst Arusha’s lush greenery.

Day 2: Into the Wild – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a lush emerald haven famous for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, and vibrant birdlife. The park’s landscape is a stunning contrast of groundwater forests, open plains, and a shimmering soda lake that often glows pink with flamingos.

During your game drive, spot giraffes nibbling treetops, buffaloes wading through wetlands, and playful baboon troops along the forest roads. Don’t miss the Hippo Pool, a favorite spot for observing these massive river dwellers.

As the sun dips behind the Rift Valley escarpment, drive to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Days 3 & 4: The Endless Plains – Serengeti National Park

Wake early and head toward the legendary Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s most celebrated wildlife sanctuary. This vast ecosystem, stretching endlessly across the horizon, hosts one of the greatest natural spectacles on Earth the Great Wildebeest Migration, where over a million wildebeests and zebras thunder across the plains in search of greener pastures.

Spend two full days exploring this wilderness with your private guide, encountering lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and perhaps the elusive black rhino. Witness breathtaking sunrises that set the savannah aglow and evenings filled with the symphony of wildlife.

Dinner and overnight at Tanzania Bush Camp, where you’ll fall asleep beneath a sky blanketed with stars.

Day 5: The Natural Wonder – Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, enjoy a final Serengeti game drive en route to the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. Formed by a collapsed volcano, this 600-meter-deep caldera shelters an incredible concentration of wildlife lions, elephants, buffalos, hippos, and even rare black rhinos roam freely across its fertile floor.

Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool as you take in the stunning crater views. You may also choose to visit a Maasai village, gaining insight into the tribe’s traditional way of life and their harmonious coexistence with nature.

Day 6: Farewell Tanzania – Departure from Arusha

As your safari draws to a close, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and reflect on the incredible moments you’ve witnessed — from roaring lions to dazzling sunsets. Depending on your flight time, you may have the option to explore Arusha’s local markets or simply relax at your lodge.

Later, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey or optional Zanzibar beach extension.
