Altitude: 1,800 m to 2,835 m
Hiking Time: 5 – 7 hours
Habitat: Rainforest

After breakfast, a scenic drive takes you from Moshi to Machame Gate, where your Kilimanjaro adventure officially begins. The trail leads through a dense rainforest alive with exotic birds, butterflies, and playful blue monkeys.
As you gradually ascend beneath the emerald canopy, the air grows cooler and the forest comes alive with the sounds of nature. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Machame Camp, where a warm meal and your first night under the stars await.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Altitude: 2,835 m to 3,750 m
Hiking Time: 4 – 6 hours
Habitat: Moorland

The rainforest fades as you climb into the open moorland. The landscape transforms into rugged terrain dotted with heather and volcanic rock.
The trail ascends steeply through ridges and valleys before leveling out onto the Shira Plateau, where Shira Camp rests beneath a vast sky. From here, you can admire the majestic Mount Meru floating in the distance at sunset.

Day 3: Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

Altitude: 3,750 m to 3,960 m (ascend to 4,650 m for acclimatization)
Hiking Time: 6 – 7 hours
Habitat: Semi-Desert

Today’s trek focuses on acclimatization — a vital step for summit success. You’ll ascend steadily toward the Lava Tower, a striking volcanic formation nicknamed the “Shark’s Tooth.”
After lunch near the tower, descend into the Barranco Valley, a dramatic landscape filled with giant groundsels and misty cliffs. The day ends at Barranco Camp, nestled beneath the towering Barranco Wall — one of Kilimanjaro’s most photographed landmarks.

Altitude: 3,960 m to 4,662 m
Hiking Time: 7 – 8 hours

Begin your morning with an exhilarating climb up the Barranco Wall, where each step rewards you with breathtaking views. Traverse a series of ridges and valleys to Karanga Camp for a short rest before continuing to Barafu Camp, your high-altitude base for the summit attempt.
As night falls, the horizon glows with starlight, and anticipation fills the crisp mountain air. Enjoy an early dinner and rest — your summit push begins at midnight.

Day 5: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Altitude: 4,662 m to 5,895 m to 3,100 m
Hiking Time: 10 – 13 hours
Habitat: Arctic (summit) to Moorland (descent)

Your summit day begins between midnight and 2 a.m., as you ascend in silence under a canopy of stars. The climb is steady and demanding, with the crunch of volcanic gravel beneath your boots.
As dawn breaks, you’ll reach Stella Point on the crater rim, greeted by a golden sunrise over the endless African plains. From there, the final push leads to Uhuru Peak — the highest point in Africa.

Celebrate your triumph at 5,895 meters, capturing photos of a lifetime. Then, descend carefully to Mweka Camp, where a hot meal and well-earned rest await after one of life’s greatest achievements.

Day 6: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi

Altitude: 3,100 m to 1,640 m
