3 Days Safari Maasai village
Trip Overview
Just a few hours’ drive from Dar es Salaam, Mikumi National Park is one of Tanzania’s most accessible safari destinations, making it perfect for a short but rewarding adventure. Known as the “Serengeti of the South,” Mikumi’s vast floodplains are home to lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, crocodiles, and more than 300 bird species. Its landscapes mirror those of its larger neighbor, Selous Game Reserve, and provide some of the best opportunities for wildlife sightings in Southern Tanzania.
This 3-day Mikumi safari combines classic game drives with a unique cultural experience visiting a Maasai village. You’ll not only encounter Tanzania’s incredible wildlife but also engage with the traditions, dances, and daily life of one of Africa’s most iconic tribes.

The park’s diverse habitats from acacia woodlands to open plains provide a sanctuary for leopards, crocodiles, hippos, jackals, and elands, alongside the more familiar Big 5 species. A packed picnic lunch will keep you energized as you explore deeper into the park.
In the afternoon, trade the wildlife experience for a cultural immersion.
