Day by day description

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park – The Rufiji River Safari

Your journey begins with an early pick-up from your hotel or the airport in Dar es Salaam. You’ll drive through Tanzania’s southern circuit to reach Nyerere National Park, the country’s largest protected area and home to an astonishing variety of wildlife.

After checking into Matembezi Safari Lodge and enjoying lunch, you’ll set off on a boat safari along the Rufiji River. Watch hippos wallow, crocodiles glide silently through the water, and flocks of birds fill the skies. The setting sun paints the river in golden hues, creating the perfect end to your first day. Day 2: Nyerere to Mikumi – From Wild Rivers to Open Plains
